CAREER PLANNING FOR ONLINE STUDENTS
Most college
students, regardless of age, major, or degree plan have career questions and
need relevant resources. Below are a few
helpful links for your review.
GET STARTED
An important
first step is to understand how your interests, abilities, and career- values, influence
the planning of your future career goals. The ACT World-of-Work Map can
help you understand how careers fields are organized. To explore career options
of interest, click the following link for an interactive version: http://www.act.org/world/world.html
NEXT STEPS
Are you
curious to know more? Your Career Coach has
more information about how your interests, abilities and career-related values
influence career direction. Ask about
the Strong Interest Inventory, or Myers Brigg Type Indicator career
assessments that can be helpful in clarifying career goals.
PUT YOUR PLAN INTO ACTION
The education
you obtain as an RMU Online college student is also preparing you for career
success. However, being successful does
not occur accidentally, but is instead the result of careful planning and professional
skill development. Whether you are
seeking an internship, preparing to enter the job market, changing or advancing
in a current career, or planning to continue further education, working with a
career coach can be a great companion to your efforts.
